| If you look closely at our theme "Be A Real Friend", and you take the first letter of each word and put it together, it spells BARF. Students remember this word well! We want every child to understand that friendships and relationships are not just something that can be thrown away or disposed of. Every Hopewell student will be able to "BARF" by the time they leave our school. | |

The Character Education Committee and I will be having a "Be A Real Friend"/ "NO Bullying" kickoff assembly during the beginning weeks of school. We will explain the program, have fun activities, a speaker, skits and everyone will be involved in our adventure. One of our goals is to provide - free of charge - a BARF T-shirt for each Hopewell student. We conduct BARF shirt events days several times per month and have mentoring programs in place where the older children adopt younger classes. There are so many possibilities for this program. We are hoping to also produce buttons and pencils with our logo and get the word out in our community about how great it is to "BARF". If you would like to be a sponsor of this great Character Education emphasis, I can think of no better way to invest in the future! The estimated cost of this program - for the coming year - is $2,800.00 (this program is funded totally through donations). If you choose to partner with us, your business, family or current employer will be featured on the back of 500 or more T-shirts! The average contribution last year was $200 per sponsor. We will recognize and promote all donations...none are too small! Our BARF program will only exist with the help of our friends!! |
