Biography

Kristy Parker, Kindergarten Assistant

Hello! I am Kristy Parker, and I'm delighted to return to Mrs. Robinson's class as her Teaching Assistant this year. I am now entering my eighth year with Bradley County Schools, and I absolutely love the kindergarten department!  Prior to taking my current position, I served here at Hopewell, at North Lee Elem., and briefly at Charleston school with the Special Services Department. I served students as a Speech/Language Technician, an Inclusion Specialist, and a Homebound services provider.

During these years as I spent Inclusion time in the Kindergarten classes, I realized once again my great desire to be with this age group all the time. When the opportunity became available, I was thrilled! It is my philosophy that each child is a unique and special creation with his/her own individual abilities and purpose. It is my job as an educator to help awaken your child to those special abilities and encourage him/her to develop them to their fullest potential. I feel blessed to be in this position--it is a calling, not a job to me! I thank you for sharing your little ones with me.

Aside from my professional life, I enjoy being part of a wonderful family. My husband, Steve, and I have two beautiful daughters, Noelle and Lyndsay. Noelle is a graduate of Walker Valley High, and Lyndsay is beginning her Freshman year there. Go Mustangs! We attend Candies Creek Baptist Church where I enjoy serving as a teacher in the 4-year old children's morning small group class, and I sing with the choir.

Here at  Hopewell, I have the privilege of working with Miss Phillips and the Hopewell Singers as their pianist. This is an amazingly talented group of young people that well represents our school. It has been a great joy to be a part of their organization.

Thank-you again for all you do to support the efforts of Mrs. Robinson and I. The educational experience is always a team effort, and we appreciate you being a part of the team. We look forward to watching your children continue to learn and grow!
