![]() The following exercises are the core to our program. Please participate with your child and place value on the energy and effort given by your child to improve their body. With a T.V. commercial break, do a different exercise until the show returns.
1.V-Sit: Sit with your legs extended to the front of your body in the "V" position. Lean into the stretch, trying to touch the ankle of each foot at the same time with your fingers. Do not bounce. Hold this position for a count of 10 and then relax. Repeat this action 5 times.
2. Crunches: Lie down on your back with your knees up and the soles of your feet on the floor. Cross your arms over chest. Lift your shoulders and head toward the ceiling. Bring your knees up to your elbows and hold for the count of 3 and then relax.
3. Push-ups: Get in push-up position with your hands and feet supporting your extended body off the floor. Hands should be positioned in line with your shoulders. Lower your body as one unit with your back straight like a tabletop. Try to touch your nose to the floor and lift back to the extended support position. Your elbows must bend to do the lifting of your body. The slower you go the more resistance your muscles will have and the more strength they will gain. Repeat 5 times and increase this number as you improve.
