EXPECTATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Projects are judged using the following percentages:

20%     Scientific Value and Originality

This will be judged on the scientific worth of the project.  Those projects that are done in every fair will not earn a score as high as those which are more original.

60%     Scientific Method and  Clarity

The project should include an introduction and/or discussion; hypothesis clearly stated; test or experiment fully described, illustrated with real results or photographs; results clearly presented; and conclusion which describes the results of your test.  All steps must be clearly documented, presented, and fully described.  All data must be presented for the judges’ use.

20%     Presentation and  Neatness

Are all steps clearly presented?  Is display neat and attractive?  Here’s where you can make the difference by distinguishing your good project from other good projects.  Organization and neatness are vital. Computer-generated data will make the best impression.  Extra touches of artistry may just make your project rise above other well-done ones.  After good science, presentation is often what makes the difference.
